Consulting Focus brings together guest speakers, panels, workshops, and information sessions from across the consulting industry. Consulting Focus increases exposure of students to a range of careers and considerations, while providing Employer Partners with the opportunity to connect with Barnard's exceptional student body.
The series aims to share practical information with students about the ins and outs of pursuing work in consulting, while also engaging in conversations about important issues facing (and faced by individuals in) the field. Students benefit from direct contact with practitioners and talent professionals, while also connecting with each other and building a sense of cohort.

Spring 2024 Consulting FOCUS Series Kick Off | Friday, January 26, 2:00pm - 2:45pm
From management consulting to specialized consulting firms, we explore it all. We discuss typical consulting internships and entry level roles, recruitment processes and timetables, and the rewards and challenges of working in consulting.
This event is the kick-off session for Consulting FOCUS, a series of events this semester with companies from across the consulting sector. Each event in the series will give attendees a chance to connect and hear from company representatives sharing information on hiring trends, how to create a strong application, and how to thrive in the industry, as well as answering questions.
Consulting Focus: McKinsey - How to Leverage Your Liberal Arts Background at MCK | Thursday, April 11, 5:30pm - 6:30pm
Hear from McKinsey consultants and Barnard alums, on how they leveraged their liberal arts background at McKinsey. You’ll learn about the 2025 recruiting process and be able to ask questions about the interview process, timeline, and ways to put your best foot forward.

Consulting Focus will kick off with an introduction to the consulting industry, held on January 31 at Beyond Barnard (Elliott Hall, Second Floor). The semester-long series of events will include a keynote conversation, alum panels on consulting careers across disciplines, opportunities to gain insight on consulting case interviews, and connections to employers.
